Dr. Sean Tjandra

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMFS)
B.SC, D.D.S., MSC, DIP, OMFS, FRCD (C)  

Born and raised in Thornhill, Ontario, Dr. Tjandra completed all of his education and specialty training at the University of Toronto, earning an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, a Master of Science in Cancer Biology, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He received several prestigious awards, including the Gordon Cressy Leadership Award and the Canadian Dental Association Presidents Award.

Following a one-year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children, he completed his post-doctoral specialty training and a Master’s degree focused on skeletal relapse after orthognathic surgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Dr. Tjandra is currently the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Hamilton Health Sciences and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at McMaster University, where he is actively involved in surgical resident education and leadership. Dr. Tjandra has served as a Counsellor for the Ontario Dental Association and Past President of the Hamilton Academy of Dentistry.

Outside of work, he enjoys tennis, golf, swimming, and travel.
